Visiting Support Service“There to help” East Boro’s Visiting Support Service is a free service available to people living in the Borough of Poole, aged 55 years or older in need of short term support.
Tailored to meet individual’s needs, the service aims to assist people with tasks they now find difficult to carry out on their own to help people to stay independent in their own home and set up a social support network to enable them to manage in the longer term. Providing practical assistance, the Visiting Support Team can provide assistance to deal with correspondence, help with budgeting and setting up bill payments, to information about and support with benefit claims. The Team can also provide information about access to social, leisure and learning opportunities and ways to get involved in the local community, such as coffee mornings, tea dances, computer classes, church/community groups etc. Funded by the Borough of Poole’s Supporting People grant, the Visiting Support Service is completely free to use. Carer’s of eligible clients can also access the service to help them in their caring role. All our staff are police checked and experienced in working with older people, whatever your support need our friendly, trained staff are on hand to help.
