Career history: Early working years in IT, operational research and management consultancy (1960-72).
Main career as senior manager and consultant in the City of London (1972-95): 15 years at The Bank of England and 8 years with the financial regulators preceding the FCA. Thereafter, interim manager and consultant in two financial services Ombudsman offices (1995-98).
More recently, classical acupuncturist (1998-2008); Board Member of Synergy Housing Association (2004-11); Independent Reviewer for The Property Ombudsman (2007-14).
Previous Voluntary Work: vice-chair of the management Committee of the City of London CAB; vice-chair of Governors at two junior schools in inner London; chair of local residents’ management company; acupuncturist at a Homeless Families Centre in central London; CRISIS volunteer.
Recently, Vice-Chair of King Alfred Housing Association in Shaftesbury (2016-19) and of a New Milton Care Home (2012-19).
Hobbies and interests: Tai ji, cycling, walking, wine, music, theatre, opera, literature, cricket and travel.
