Kate Dukes

Joined Board: Previously the Chairman of Soroptimist (Poole) Housing Association Ltd Kate joined the East Boro Board in July 2017 after the merger of the two organisations.

Responsibilities:  To support the Board and staff of East Boro in providing specialist housing and care services and to represent the Trust at industry and community events.

About Kate:  Born in Coventry Kate moved to Dorset at the age of 7.  After a short period away at college and training for her career, Kate returned to Dorset and has lived and worked in the county since.

Career history:  Kate graduated with a BSc (Hons) in surveying from Trent Polytechnic and subsequently qualified and worked as a Chartered Surveyor specialising in residential property.  In 2011, whilst undertaking a sabbatical to study for her Masters in Building Conservation, she had an accidental change of career and she now works in administration for the NHS, specialising in community Cardiology services.

Hobbies and interests:  Architecture, archaeology, local history and craftwork, particularly bead jewellery making.

Kate says: "When SPHA were looking to outsource their management one of the key factors which influenced our decision to appoint East Boro was the way in which the staff knew their tenants as individuals and worked with them to create the best lives possible.  After the merger it has been my privilege to join the Board and help to further that ambition."
