Summer seems a distant memory as the chill wind bites and snow is threatening to make an appearance. But during the summer of 2018, the exceptionally high temperatures and dry conditions that we enjoyed in Dorset this year didn’t deter our green fingered Sheltered Housing tenants from their gardens and for yet another year, East Boro in Bloom contestants produced some beautiful plants and arrangements.
Judging was carried out by former Board Member Pat Pitkin accompanied by Dorothy Allen, Customer Liaison Manager. The competition was tough but after a few very enjoyable days meeting our Sheltered Housing tenants and seeing their gardens, the results can be seen.
We are very lucky to have such a proactive Board of Trustees and this year Board member, Vivian Allen judged the Weymouth Supported Living entries for our East Boro in Bloom Competition. She thoroughly enjoyed herself and said:
“What a pleasure to see such wonderful displays of flowers, shrubs and vegetables in different settings and containers. From windowsills, to front doors, and court yard garden and from truggs to galvanized tins. All the entries had their own style, personality and were a pleasure to look at.” Viv Allen, East Boro Trustee
